MONOAMMONIUM PHOSPHATE

Monoammonium phosphate, commonly known as MAP, is one of the most important fertilizers used worldwide. It is formed by the reaction of ammonia and phosphoric acid. MAP is soluble and can easily mix within the soil. It has good storage and handling properties and is also recommended for dry applications.

FEATURES & BENEFITS

  • The nitrogen content present in MAP is in ammonium form which resists leaching and releases nitrogen slowly.
  • It is preferred over DAP when applied to neutral or high pH soils as it has an acidic reaction.
  • It is specifically used for the production of grains and cloves.
  • It is highly recommended at the beginning of sowing season when phosphorous is required by the roots.
